SALAMAT UP

August 1st, 2008 by jcmjagua

I found this tribute/song for UP centennial as I was browsing for an assignment in my masteral class. Yeah. I easily get distracted (even without a stimulus.Ü asa ka ana.)  So here’s one valid excuse for me to pause from masteral stude-mode to iskolar-mode.

I decided to post this for everybody (UPian or not) to experience.

HAPPY CENTENNIAL ISKO/ISKA!

SALAMAT, U.P.

Ryan Cayabyab

Sa ‘yo UP maraming salamat

Ikaw na aking tahanan

Mula sa aking pagkamulat

Hanggang sa aking huling hininga

Sa ‘yo UP maraming salamat
Ang iyong mga aral ang aking gabay
B
aon ko ito sa paglalakbay

Hanggang mapanaw ang buhay.

Ako’y lumaki sa iyong pag-iingat

Natutong mag-aral, natutong magsaya

Dulot mo ay init tuwing kami ay nagiginaw

Sa lahat ng panahon bigay mo’y pag-asa.

Sa ‘yo UP maraming salamat

Ang iyong mga aral ang aking gabay

Baon ko ito sa paglalakbay

Hanggang mapanaw ang buhay

finally. sige jud kog kalimot sa pangalan sa artist. these are the songs nga cgeg tuyok sakong utok karong panahona. kapoy na usahay.hehe

Colbie Caillat - Bubbly

Will you count me in

I’ve been awake for a while now
You’ve got me feelin like a child now
Cause everytime I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I’ll always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers staying safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore

They start in my toes
Make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I’ll always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way
I just hmm

And it starts in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I’ll always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go

I’ve been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I’m comfortable enough to feel your warmth

It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feeling shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holding me tight

Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever you go
Always know
Cause you make me smile even just for a while

Title: Put Your Records On

Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don’t need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes, we’ve got it wrong, but it’s alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don’t you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don’t you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.

Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it’s alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don’t you think it’s strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

‘Twas more than I could take, pity for pity’s sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise, that you don’t even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Oh, you’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow

Leyte here we come…

August 1st, 2005 by jcmjagua

yes. we are leaving for leyte tomorrow evening. Dev Comm field trip. Our teacher said we will acquaint ourselves with ourselves with the community radio station in Leyte State u, their devcomm department, students there, we’ll be having community immersion…the list goes on.

me? uhhmm… of course i’ll enjoy the mentioned activities…but what im looking forward to is the experience of going to the place since it’s my first time to explore a visayas island aside from cebu and bohol…m very excited coz i’ll finally be in Ivi’s hometown–ormoc! yey!

hopefully,–Lord-willing– we’ll have a great time there and nothings gets in the way…woooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! m soooo excited…

our batch also considers this trip a break from the pressures of thesis proposal, dev comm, advertising, comm141, internship and the fast-approaching COOKOUT!!!. hopefully okey ra this year and nindot ra ang whole event (the cookout). grabe ang pressure oi… most of my classmates are sick (Lyng, Tif, bolai, okkin, etc.)

basta…watever happens, maglingaw jud ko didto… :D (wink, wink)

the best acquaintance party so far…way binuang.

July 30th, 2005 by jcmjagua

July 30, 2005 is one of the happiest and most exciting days ever–UP-Cebu Mass Comm acquaintance party in Portofino, Lapulapu City–.

Our block originally attended the gathering for the sole purpose of garnering the 5 points Sir Ian promisedto give us if we do attend. Thanks to the advertising exam yesterday which i bet is one of the reasons for my classmates’ worsening leeping disorders–apil na ko ana–, weeks-old fever–cedric :( –, etc., as always…]

Then a miracle happened… (chimes daun… drumrolls…) toing!!!

The masscomm block who’s known for its "unified insanity" esp. in skipping classes(hehehe), out-of-this-world antics, and laid-back attitude toward almost everything is actively participating in the acquaintance’s activities especially in the tug of war…TOTOO BA ITO?!

career jud ateh! nangabuslot ang sarong og pinugong sa pisi and nangahurot ang energy og hinawid…and the price? a pack of crispy patata for us–a junk food individually sold in sari-sari stores for one peso–. but 8s not d price, 8s the fun and experience…in fairness, we proved the world wrong… ngon sila katag kuno amo block…bleeeeeh! dili biya… i say we are diverse… thousand personalities, one common principle–INAMAW ANG LIFE!!!–

Nalokah sad ko sa longest line contest!!! nahitabo ang dili angay mahitabo… undress/strip jud almost everyone just to lengthen the line… mga amaw jud…murag pila ka milyon ang premyo…hehehe.cge lang, lingaw man…

nalingaw sad ko sa initiation namo sa first years. hope kasabot sila sa "sweet, bitter, sour" theme namo… rock on guys! cute au mo tan-awn mag-panic..kidding! peace…

m so excited for our leyte trip this tuesday (God willing!)…Leyte here we come!!! our block gets the chance to bond again amidst the cookout pressure, thesis proposal esp. to Maganaka advisees like me(good luck mga ateh!), tv internship (internshit to some…)

hay… Lord, unta mawala na akong sleeping disorder noh… makatulog na unta ko’g gabii and dili sa adlawan diba…dili man tingali ko bat…or abat…i could only hope…

kaila mo’g hapit ko mapahamak sa comm199 tungod sa akong pagka-nocturnal? huh!!! kaila kag after namo ga-overnyt ila kara para i-career among content analysis presentation kay maggy lagi, nakatulog ko sa bhaus on the time of presentation and woke up at almost 11am (note: class sked s 9-12noon). buti nalang at artistahin ang aking mga groupmates (labyu chai, kara, cedric). gihimoan ko nila’g sakit and told sir that i have a fever that’s why i wasn’t around the class… whew!good thing na-convince xa…m saved.

hahay…duty nasad singgit cebu…hopefully gamay ra mig palpak ani…

di ko ganahan malumos sa kasaba ni "gemini the great lecturer" and mother lily…
